About
the exam
There are three sections to this exam;
Case Management- This section consists of twenty stations
(10 simulated patient encounters, and 10 Post-encounters), testing case
history skills, orthopedic, neurological and physical examination. You
are expected to perform procedures or answer questions pertaining to clinical
situations.
Technique- This section consists of five stations (cervical,
thoracic, lumbar, pelvic and extremity). There will be two set-ups at each
station, and you are graded on patient, Doctor and hand placement, and
line of drive.
X-ray Interpretation and Diagnosis- There are 5 to 10 stations
with radiographs. You are to identify "common" clinical, precautionary
or emergency conditions indicated on the films and may be asked to answer
related questions.
All stations are timed.
At least one NBCE official indicated that this exam
will be accepted or required by 48 States.
The next NB Part 4 exams are scheduled forMay 18-20, 2012 and November 9-11, 2012.
